I’ve no idea how people do it. Commute that is. It’s utterly beyond me.
Many moons ago I made a pack with myself that I would never take a job unless I could either walk to the office or, at worse, use public transportation and 15 minutes of my time to get there. I’ve succeeded at this and I cannot begin to tell you how rewarding it is, how much additional time you gain in a day doing so, how less stressed you are, and how much more coin ends up in your pocket as a result.
This was reinforced on last night night when G and I used TTC and GO Transit to head all the way out to Oakville for dinner with two dear friends, Gracie and Deb.
I never cease to be amazed
that people actually live and whole communities exist west of Spadina, north of Lawrence
and east of Leslie … it blows me away. Remerciez un dieu de la vie dans la ville!

3) you see scary things in Oakville including this jacked up truck no doubt owned by some dreadful redneck farmer; 4) our destination, the yummy – if overpriced (but this is Oakville afterall) – Coriander Green

5) spicy samosas; 6) our collective mains arrive!

7) thank god, back to civilization we go; 8) moi, Gracie and Deb

9) the den and new teak wine cabinet
On a side note, we picked up our lovely solid teak wine cabinet today. Me likes though we now need to buy another one, or an open bookcase, to balance out the unit in the den.
