Momiji Magic Show

First off, greetings from beautiful Chicago, where I’ve landed for a few days to attend a conference on neuro-rehabilitation. (exciting huh?!)

On Saturday, after paying a quick stop into the bohemian quarter that is the Gladstone Hotel on Queen West West, we ventured farther west all the way to Royal York subway station for a dinner party at Momiji, a sushi house and grill.

I must give a big thank you to my staffer, Yohan K, who gifted me this wonderful evening as a thank you for believing in him and his skills back in March when I hired him to work on our team. My faith has not been misplaced!

Momiji, japanese for ‘maple leaf’, serves sushi in the kaiten style where an ever-so-cute conveyor belt whisks wonderful plates of sushi, sashimi and rolls right past you. It is immensely fun (helped, I will grant you, by Sea Breeze cocktails and an excellent bottle of organic Chardonnay from Bonterra in California!). Also on tap on Saturday were a live jazz band and magician Ray X. How he managed to change G’s five dollar bill into a fifty dollar bill in front of us still amazes me!
