We attended the Toronto Blue Jays game on Saturday with Blee and Ironwoman Laura, who is shortly heading to Kenya to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. Way cool! Our tickets were courtesy of our Mirvish subscriptions, who sent us free coupons for field level seats. The Jays played – and lost to – the Cleveland Indians. Bah!
We left at the 7th inning stretch but were confronted with torrents of rain at Gate 9. Blee lives seconds away from the Rogers Centre (aka SkyDome) but we all ended up drenched scampering the 30 seconds to her front door. We immediately had to disrobe and toss shorts and stuff into the dryer and were forced to sit around and watch the Olympics drinking Strongbow until things dried out. Tough, I know.
Sufficiently soused and with clothes dry, we tried to land tickets to The Dark Knight at IMAX but tickets were sold out and so we ended up consoling ourselves with dinner and wine at the Red Tomato, which has the best happy hour options in the city.
