I’ll begin this post with an apology to my American readers. I did not make this up … it was reported on the AP wire.
“U.S. Feared Canadian Poppy Quarter’ … that was/is the headline (full story here). You are not reading it wrong, the US Defence Department feared the Canadian poppy quarter. They … now wait for it … thought it contained nanotechnology and was being used to spy on and bug Americans!?
(shrugs shoulders)
Now, I have traveled the United States extensively in my time. I’ve met many, many Americans (not all granted, but many). We even owned a home in Sarasota, Florida for 10 years so I have some familiarity with the US and Americans. And you know what? … stories like this just reconfirm my longheld view America ain’t the brightest star in the solar system … to put that kindly and mildly.
