Maritime Museum of the Atlantic

Another adventure in Halifax is behind me. I was fortunate this trip that I did have a wee bit of free time yesterday morning to do some sightseeing. I went and toured the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic down on Lower Water Street.

While not the biggest museum you’ll ever visit, it does contain two interesting exhibits – one on the Halifax Explosion of 1917 (which, up to the time the atomic bomb was dropped on the Hiroshima, was the single largest man-made explosion ever recorded); the other on the Titanic.

If you’re ever in Halifax, the Museum is worth a 30 minute visit if only to see these two exhibits.
