Seems a lot of you
thought the loonie in Friday’s post came with the cereal! No folks, I added the
loonie myself to give you some sense of just how big that strawberry was ….
now, with that cleared up on to some sundry adventures from this past
weekend.

Buck naked, old,
wrinkly cyclists at Yonge/Bloor?! Like, erm, what’s with that?! Well, actually, it was the World Naked Bike Ride. honestly, what next?! There were
about 10 cyclists being escorted by two Toronto cops on bikes (these guys were
in uniform). Gosh, what happens if you fall? Talk about road rash!
Eek!

Vegetarian Fare
It was certainly
veggie weekend for us. On Friday night we ate at Happy Buddha (Yonge/Eglinton).
It was very good (the spicy eggplant, in particular). I think this place is new.
I don’t have any pics though …. I forgot the cam. They have a great meal deal:
for $20.00 two can dine on an appetizer (spring rolls); soup (hot and sour) and
two mains (we had mock shrimp fried rice and ‘buddha’s delight, which was
fantastic!). The pineapple shake I can also highly recommend.

The veggie fare
continued on Saturday night when we headed all the way out to Guelph to visit
Gracie. We ate at The Cornerstore (our usual haunt in Guelph). Excellent,
excellent meal in a totally funky vibe locale. Here’s some

Mozartballs
While in Guelph we
stumbled upon “The Nutty Chococtalier” and found Mozartballs! Finally! Ever
since seeing the documentary “Mozartballs” at the Hot Docs Film Festival, we’ve been trying to hunt down these peculiar
little tasty treats in Toronto. Made in Austria, they are a mix of milk and dark
chocolate; marzipan, and nougat. Very yummy, though I couldn’t eat a pile of
them!

St.
Jacob’s
On Sunday we headed
north to St. Jacob’s and toured this village full of mennonites. We shopped at
the market and toured the wee village looking at the crafty shops and
antiques. This was our first time to St. Jacobs and, frankly, I can’t see
myself visiting again. I think I was expecting more charm and quaintness ….
like Solvang or Main Str up in Unionville.

Will and
Bill
Bill
Last night I met up
with xangster and singer-songwriter extraordinaire (shameless plug, I know, but
true nonetheless), willariah, and Billy to lend a hand on a funding
application. Will and I wrote and edited while Billy gave great encouragement
with lots of doggie kisses! Yay Billy!
World Cup
And finally …. GO ENGLAND GO! World Cup is the talk of the town, city, globe (take your pick)

I’m fortunate to hold dual citizenship, having a British and Canadian passport. As Canada did not make the World Cup this year, I shall don the englishmen in me for the next wee bit and shout with proper english aplomb:
GO E NG L A N D GO!
