Sufficiently recovered from the housewarming, we ventured downtown – in minus freaking 20-something celsius temperatures – to Blee’s for a Chinese New Year luncheon with two traditional Chinese New Year’s delights … do you what these are?…

1) this Chinese New Year treat is made with taro root; 2) this Chinese New Year dessert is sliced then …
Afterwards we headed to the Soho Metropolitan for cocktails before a lovely dinner at Xam Yue on Spadina complete with whole steamed large mouth bass; chicken in lotus leaf; huge scallops on the shell and shrimp-stuffed tofu (sans pictures as we were too hungry and simply dug in).
Happy New Year to both you and G! Ah… that must be the Spadina streetcar. How’s the food at Xam Yue nowadays? I haven’t been there in a while now.
i only had the second one, which in hawaii we all just call “gau.”happy year of the ox!
Happy new year to you, too!
Happy New Year!恭喜發財!! I had those New Year treats too…yummy!!
The boss forgot it was New Year! So no special treats. Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year. Hope the Year of the Ox was better than the year of the Rat!
