Honest Ed’s Warehouse
This place rocks! Bastion of bargains, and the Holt Renfrew for Toronto’s working class poor (a statement for which I’m sure to get flack). I’m a convert. I may browse and window shop ad nauseam at that sicon of snobbery (Holts) but I buy at Honest Eds! Witness last Saturday’s deals par excellence:
Aquafresh Extreme Clean: THE toothpaste of choice among the discerning buyers and usually (on a good day) $2.99ea at the mother of all drugstores, Shopper’s Drug Mart. At Honest Ed’s though you can get this ….
Say it with me folks: I’m a believer! Hallelujah!
Other deals:
– Pringles for $0.89 ea
– perfectly fine t-shirts for $2.99 ea
The Crystal That Wasn’t
And while we’re on the topic of things fine; this picture of something that is anything but: the continuing work on the Royal Ontario Museum and poor Daniel Libeskind’s ‘crystal’. What was once supposed to be a house of crystalline glass is shaping up to be a hodgepodge of aluminum siding with token glass mementos. So utterly sad. An opportunity lost.
RYC: I do not envy you the three days of sessions.
haha. drugs are bad for you though =]and thank you =]btw i really LOVE the taste of aquafresh…=[i dont know why i switched to Colgate total though…
Do you need that bargain? I am surprised. :) I will syndicate reviews later to xanga…
I’m shouting AMEN Brother! The Crystal reminds me of the McNamara Alumni Center at the University of Minnesota. I’ll post pictures later so you can see how much…they are alike.
Store sounds good but the museum could use a new building.
Haha~~I wish they had a store like Honest Eds in LA!!
I have not been at Eds in so long. I had found long ago that not everything was cheap. As for the AGO. Ya, it is quite…….noticeable! Wasn’t there a big story about how it was made of glass, the light came in, and was not good for the art. Hence Black glass?
Wow, you sound like a cheesy salesman!
Honest Eds – we used to call it “Edwards at Bloor” to give it a more tonier feel. hee hee…
