G was down at the Eaton Centre on Saturday afternoon, getting himself all dolled up (in the capable hands of hairstylist to the stars, Leo E), and returned home with a new gal who’s now a part of our lives.
Her name is Barbie, and she’s the hot, hot Wicked Witch of the West. And and she’s now ours! Ours! OURS! Better still, she’s essentially sold out everywhere and has already doubled in value!
Welcome to the club
On Saturday night we headed to Ristorante 101 on Yonge to celebrate MD’s entry into the 40-hood club! Poor darling. Still, he had spent Saturday with the bike team down in London at the Forest City Velodrome so that’s like way cool, and something I have got to check out when I’m next in London. Happy B-day Mark!
Proof Everywhere
Though I’ve always known it (humble I ain’t; conceiting I am) … proof is popping up everywhere that “Brent is Hot”. Check out this affirmation found this morning at Ikea North York! Me loves it! …. Hmmmm, unless that actually reads ‘Brent is Not”. Eek!
Sunday
After a quick stop at Ikea (for napkins of all things) we headed across to that eyesore that is downtown North York. How people actually live in this desolate, sad urban wasteland built for the ego of a sad little man, Mel Lastman, is beyond me?!. Anyhows, it does have an Asian Legend.
From a satisfying dim sum feast, we headed home and then walked down to Bayview Ave to window shop. Along the way we saw some interesting ‘art’ (see below) and some oh-so-sad testaments to architecture (also see below).
dont be hatin’ on mah ‘hood! It’s a bazaar (sic) , eclectic mix of Persians and Koreans (with Chinese and Russians thrown in for good measure) and it’s hot! It’s a veritable microcosm of the Asian continent and much more interesting than you downtowners give it credit for (and by downtowners, i mean S.O.Bs – South of Bloor and Yuppies from midtown.
I could point out lots of interesting places in the hood like the restaurant with best dam Kam Ja Tang this side of Seoul but alas I shall save it from being over-run with downtown wannabees and generic yuppies from mid-town. hahaha
ryc: hahaha well, you can always take a trip to hawaii yourself =P
RYC: Well, I did not say that but if you say so I will not argue with you.
hmm… wicked witch of the west barbies… do they melt in water? =P
ryc – I’m not sure I’ve over it but I’m taking baby steps in the right direction.
a barbie?
yes, brent is hot
Woo…the witch looks creepy!! Sounds like you had a great weekend!!
Good weekend for you. Wicked is sold out around here too. Brent is hot!!!
The Yonge / Finch to Sheppard area isn’t that bad. There’s some interesting Korean & Japanese restaurants there too. About the house, I was going to say it looks ok. But you know what, if you asked me 5 mins after I look at the picture, I don’t think I would have remembered anything about it.
