Pumpkin Gnocchi

G and I talked all week about preparing pumpkin gnocchi for dinner on Saturday night with a mushroom consomme. After a visit to the Bay at Yonge to see the holiday windows (where I played with the elves), a stop in Sears to (thankfully) buy a humidifier for home, hair cuts with Leo extraordinaire, and a run around St. Lawrence Market, we made it back around 6pm and started to drink and cook.

The drinking derailed any plan I had to take pictures of the homemade pumpkin gnocchi and mushroom consomme being made, which, thanks to G’s brilliant freeze cooling ideas, effectively had us sitting down to eat at 8:30pm … which is a blessed miracle for anyone who’s ever made homemade consomme and gnocchi from scratch will attest to. Miraculous! If you want the scoop on how to make consomme, see the post I put up on making duck consomme back in February last year in preparation for our Oscar Dinner.
