Saturday was our annual visit to the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE). We spend the morning riding the midway rides, leaving our lives in the hands of the odd and occasionally scary carnies. I am not a twisty, turny ride sort of guy and have to strategically pace myself on the rides to avoid a possible hurl. After doing the Polar Express, we ventured on to the Swing Tower swings then on to the Tilt-a-Whirl and boy, was I close to a Tilt-a-Whirl hurl!

12) BMO Field, home of Toronto FC; 13) the Swing Tower
One of my favourite parts of the CNE is visiting “The Farm” where you can see and learn about farmers and the job they do for all of us .. .Farmers Feed Cities!
That would not have been pretty and, in fact, there was a SuperDog hurl when a young asian guy tossed his lunch in the stands. Ick!
The highlight again this year was our annual Miss Holstein Competition where we judge the Miss County Farm Pagent entrants using our own criteria. This year there was a banner crop and G and I were in tears of joy, knowing full well who the winner would be.
See last year’s winners here.
KiWe
On Friday we met up with Tennis Star Suzie, who just landed a new consultancy job, Ironwoman Laura, Denyse and Blee for dinner at KiWe on King Street West.
Were you looking at the farm animals, sizing up their potential in your kitchen as ingredients?
wow, that looks like a lot of fun (although i agree with you about that ride that turns you upside-down… definitely not for me either). i haven’t been to a fair like that in a long time.
I’m not big on those rides – maybe the little merry go round. How is the food at KiWe?
Fun. I like your farm pics.
