… leave!
The move to the new condo went very smoothly. The moving company arrived promptly at 10am and by 2pm everything had been safely moved. Of course, the place was a mess … some 100 boxes of stuff! Oh lord.
However, in a sure sign things were meant to be – as we sat down for dinner amid the chaos on Monday night – a double rainbow appeared outside our window. We are truly fortunate!
Our fist night in the
condo shall be later tonight/early morning. Thursday, October 30th is an
auspicious day on the Chinese calender and we shall pay homage to G’s
culture (read: superstition) and not climb into bed until 12:01 sharp
to ensure double happiness (as verified by the double rainbow).
After finishing dinner on Monday and Tuesday nights we fled the condo and established ourselves in the quiet bliss of Toronto’s Park Hyatt Hotel. The Hyatt was lovely as ever and last night we had dessert in Annona, the on-site restaurant. We sampled two fabulous cheeses – a Blackburn and Riopelle de I’isle – and then tried a sampling of four tiny desserts – including a to-die-for apple fritter.
The heavens are welcoming you to your new home. And finally someone who may – just may – have more stuff than I do!.
An auspicious sign, indeed! Best wishes in your new digs.
Haha….I did the same Chinese customs during my move too! I picked the date from a Chinese Calender book!
