Naturally, with my position, my employer provided me with a state-of-the-art laptop that will probably get someone to the moon and back if need be. However, the briefcase that came with the laptop is some horrendous Targus monstrosity. Vile, and so not me with my modern sensibilities. However, I did find an affordable alternative and nabbed it at Chapters (of all places). It’s a lovely, sleek, slim Danica. Sort of in an army green. They came in bright, brilliant orange as well and I would prefer that but G thought this was more in keeping with the conservative image I should be portraying.
Retreat
I spent 4 days this week up at a resort in Gananoque doing kpis (key performance indicators), forecasting and fiscal ’07 planning <rolls eyes>. It’s too bad it rained, rained, rained as it would have been nice to get out and wander the trails. Even our boat cruise, planned for Tuesday night, was sadly canceled because of poor weather.
I’ve decided I truly dislike those silly corporate ‘games’ meant to build teams <rolls eyes>. Also added to my dislike list is breakout sessions where you are obliged to ‘report back’ to the big group. Com’on, no one really cares about the report back and no one really listens. Especially when the group is functionally-based and 40+ people in size. Eprops to JQ for admitting this and being bold enough to say it in her session and spare us all the hassle of reporting back!

The new one definately outrule the targus! I always wanted a booq but they”re so expensive.
