Up Up and Up …

Presque rien
Friday’s movie was the 2000 French film, Presque rien (Come Undone), starring one of my Top 10 Hotties, Stéphane Rideau. This film was directed by Sébastien Lifshitz, and, in typical French fashion, is slow, confused and depressing. Essentially a coming of age story, it follows Mathieu (played by Jérémie Elkaïm) as he heads south to his family’s summer home and falls in love with Cedric (played by Rideau).

Sure, this film has full-frontal nudity of both lads but even that is not enough to make you interested in what’s happening. The film leaves more questions than answers. Like, why does Mathieu leave Cedric? Like, what leads Mathieu to the obvious suicide attempt hinted at in the film. Like, why do the lads opt to head off to Nantes? And, like, who really cares? …

All in all a tedious, flawed movie. Mr. Lifshitz’s should have his director’s status reviewed. My rating 2 out of 10.

Willariah’s Thirtieth
Saturday night it was off to the wilds of Pacific Mall for wonderful willariah‘s 30th B-day bash at Garlic & Onion. Yay Will! Will graciously laid on a sumptuous Chinese Banquet, which was to-die for. It was great to meet some old friends and make some new ones! I even got an advance copy of Will’s upcoming CD release “Amusement” to preview. Thanks Will!

CN Tower Climb
Sadly, I could not join some of the post-willariah b-day festivities as I had to get up bright and early this am to head downtown for the United Way CN Tower Climb. So, it was up and up and up I went … up all 1776 stairs, up the world’s tallest free standing structure, up 160 stories … to the top! My time this year: 16:08. Not my best by far, but still pretty damn good.

Afterwards, G and I brunched at Sue’s and began planning her “Christmas in Casablanca“-theme holiday party. Sue is trusting in our fabulosity to create a decadent Moroccan Adventure with sights and sounds and food in true 1940s fashion. We got the details, the budget, viewed the party room, and have already decided to bring in a belly dancer and create a ‘bedouin boudoir’. OMG, should be fun! G and I soooo love planning/executing parties!
